Why is my bill so high?

Remember this is a utility bill, not just an electric bill. We bill for electric, water, sewer, public fire protection, and refuse service. The public fire protection and refuse service are collected for the City of Sturgeon Bay.

Different seasons and events will cause the utility bill to fluctuate somewhat. Some of the variables that can effect your utility bill include change in weather, change in the number of members in the family, addition or subtraction of appliances, or the length of time the appliances are used. Typically, higher bills are noticed in summer months due to air-conditioning and watering, and in winter months due to possible electric heat and/or holiday activities.
