SBU Awards Energy Efficiency Grant
Sturgeon Bay Utilities recently presented an incentive grant in support of local efforts to improve energy efficiency. Hatco Corporation received $8,100 for the installation of a new variable frequency drive (VFD) air compressor.
As a result of the energy-saving improvement, Hatco Corporation will enjoy the benefit of an estimated $3,335 annual electric bill savings.
“Hatco plays an important role in our community, and their commitment to energy conservation is yet another asset the company brings to Sturgeon Bay” said Jim Stawicki, SBU General Manager.
The project is expected to result in annual energy savings of 68,700 kilowatt-hours – enough energy to power the equivalent of seven homes.
“Working together on energy conservation with our business customers is a partnership that makes sense for the utility, the customer and the community,” said Jim Stawicki. “Energy conservation is the most practical and effective way that we can help protect the environment and keep customers’ electric bills down for the long term.”
